Shilpnidhi — an Artiure initiative
Select Size:
A white cow stands among lotus stems - garlanded, ankleted, a flower tucked behind one ear - with pink blooms opening on either side and broad green pads at her feet. She is Kamdhenu, the wish-granting cow of Hindu myth, and she is painted here with the softness that subject asks for rather than the grandeur. The border is a band of white scrollwork on deep blue, sealing the scene like a page. Traditional Jaipur blue pottery throughout: quartz paste, freehand painting, low single firing. It carries meaning for people who know the story, and it is simply a beautiful animal for people who do not.
