Shilpnidhi — an Artiure initiative

Kamal patra is the lotus leaf, and here it does what lotus leaves do - holds the flower up to the light. A single pink bloom rests on broad green foliage against a periwinkle ground that sits somewhere between lavender and morning sky, a colour rarely attempted in blue pottery because the glaze is difficult to keep even. The painter's brush moves slowly on this one; you can see it in the unhurried outlines. Nine inches square, gentler than most of its Jaipur cousins, it suits the quieter rooms - a bedside, a dresser, the shelf where the day winds down.
