Jasper Daniel's paintings explore the psychological landscapes that lie beneath ordinary life. His work returns to memory, identity, solitude, belonging, and the fragile ways we make sense of ourselves and the world around us. Rather than depicting reality as it appears, he paints how it feels. Fragments, erasures, layered surfaces and ambiguous figures give form to emotions that are often difficult to describe. He does not expect his paintings to carry a single meaning. Each one holds space for what you bring to it. His work often exists between abstraction and suggestion. Fragments resembling figures, architecture, memory, landscapes, or psychological spaces appear and dissolve within the dark,
